I do not know what the other post is talking about. Ismael Gonzalez is the reason I am allowed to stay in this country. I was about to be deported and litterally being boarded on the plane, but Ismael was able to contact the immigation officer and they we able to remove the deportation order. I called the office and was always attended by the assistants who were helpful and the lawyer would call back at night. I have no problems and am thankful I get the chance to stay with my family in the United States.
For the one writing in favor of Ismael Gonzalez all I have to say is, " you must be one of his staff members who along with him use unscrupulous tactics to steal from innocent people". My family was recently robbed by this lawyer and his staff who guarantee us 100% that he would help us if only we gave in the amount of $3500. We then found out, this lawyers office did not move a single finger and just let the case sit around. They exactly knew the whole situation and all they cared about was getting the money and then lie to us as if they had done any work. I am pretty sure that we are not the only ones who have been scammed by this firm. We are concerned that others can become victims and taken advantage of their desperation.. I have known this attorney gonzalez for many years. He is absolutely one of the most professional attorneys i know. i was in jail in elizabeth on my way to be deported to colombia.Mr. Gonzalez and got my old deportation order re-opened and got me out of jail.my wife is disabled and I would have missed my children. Beacuse of him, he got me back my green card.

My life in this country was on the line and he won my case! I have been here since 1980 and ICE wanted to deport me because of an old possession of gun case I had in Manhattan. Out of fear for my life I had to fire my gun. I was scared to death. But thank God for Ismael! He convinced the judge not to deport me from this great country!! Ismael IS THE BEST!!!
Wow iive should have done some research before I went to this scum..basically took my money and ran. I didn't catch in the beginning why did their assistants called from their cellphones and not from the office number.it was a little wierd to me but the fool I was I didn't catch it.Also the fact that you go there and there's like 50 cams just pointing at your face. I was in jail for 7 months. They said i robbed a white woman in brooklyn who i never met. My prevous lawyer wanted me to plea to time served even though I WAS NOT GUILtY!!On top of that The cops broke my nose when they arrested me. They banged my head against the wall like a rag doll. Ismael Gonzalez not only got all the charges dismisseed, he sued the police for me. The cops had to pay me for all the time i lost at work and for my injuries. There is nothing reasonable about Ismael Gonzalez. My wife gave him $2500 as a retainer to take a case in which I was involved with. First thing he over charged her for the service. Then he insisted on a $10,000 retainer to start the case. Understandable, so the retainer was given to him and the retainer agreement was signed. I did not feel comfortable with the guy because when a professional talks and express him or herself it shows. We decided to take a second opinion from a well-known attorney and I felt more comfortable dealing with him. Ohh yes and this was 7 days after the $10,00 was given to him in which time Mr. Gonzalez did not give me a single call even just to ask how are things going or even give me an update on the case. When I gave him a call at his office at 12pm, he was not there and the receptionist was very kind to tell me that he never shows up at the office at this time, he’s usually at the office after 5pm, So I asked if he at home or court and she said I don’t know just call his cell phone. Ok so I did and he didn’t answer. I left a voice mail and told him to please call my cell phone because he hasn’t gotten in contact with me and I needed to talk to him ASAP. 2 minutes later he calls back the last number I called from which was from the lawyer i just replaced him with. When i spoke to him, 1st he sound like he just woke up. Mind you this is at 12pm. Then I heard a child playing in the background. I told him hi this is such and such and I just haven’t heard from you so I decided to get a second voice on my case and decided to change lawyer. He said what are you talking about I think you should come talk to me first you’re making a big mistake. I told him very politely I’m sorry I appreciate everything you’re done but I need to go with someone else and I just need the $10,000 retainer you took for the case. I have never heard anyone get so upset. He stated QUOTE “you will not get that money back. You will not get a simple DIME back". Now this was said in front of my new lawyer and in front of my wife. I knew I had a bad feeling about this guy. I have filed a complaint with the New York City Bar association. I will post the outcome when it becomes available. I just want people to be careful before they put their money into a lawyer’s hand. It could be a costly mistake in the long run.

My mother had a deportation order which he removed, and then applied for her green card and thankfully he was able to bring peace to our home.
Prior to Mr. Gonzalez, my mother had another lawyer who indeed was a FRAUD, we paid him over $15,000.00 to take care of my mother's case, but once we paid him all the money, he was gone and my mother's case had gone to final stage of deportation, removal!
My family is really thankful to Mr. Gonzalez, wish you guys had a good experience with him as well. Just be aware of things, make sure he is the right lawyer for your case, ask questions, and if not satisfied then move on to another lawyer. And once again, this is only based on my mom's case with this lawyer.
Terrible. That's not even enough to describe how my experience was going to this lawyer's "office". I scheduled an appointment for a free consultation, hoping he could give me an answer for my friend.
For starters, the secretaries are very unprofessional. Socializing seem to be their priority instead of attending to potential clients.
Ismael Gonzalez can get the award for most unprofessional lawyer. After explaining the situation, this man starts talking down onto the person I wanted Gonzalez to help. During the consultation, Gonzalez started to chug down a gallon of water in front of me. It became quite obvious that he doesn't take clients seriously. Now for the big finale. Right before, leaving Gonzalez started talking about the $2000.00 fee. He was already charging me money before I could hire him. I left, telling Gonzalez that I let him know. I left my work number so he could contact me or my father. Within two days he calls my job, and angrily yelling at my father for $2000.00. Gonzalez wasn't even hired, and he believes he's entitled to money. Just before Gonzalez hung up, he said that never wants to see me in his office again. Honestly, that's just fine, I'm sure that he would just been a leech on my wallet, nothing more.
I STRONGLY DON'T RECOMMEND this lawyer to anyone (if you can call him that), he is a thief, immature, liar, irresponsible, and more. He never moved a single finger to resolve my family's case.

For everyone with a complaint about this man, please contact the New York State Bar Association and report him before the statute of limitation runs out. There is a SOL of 3 years for legal malpractice in the State of New York. In order to address this issue, you need to report him and make the State Bar Association aware of his actions. According to the NY STATE Attorney Search database, his Attorney ID number is 2340404. He attended the University of Wisconsin Law and graduated in 1990. He does not have any public records of discipline against him, which really surprises me and only proves that he targets uneducated people who are unaware of their rights and believe there are no options once you get duped. For a fee dispute issue call (212) 267-6646. To report him directly to the Bar Association call (212) 401-0800. They will ask you to leave your name and address and within several days, you will receive a form in the mail to fill out. This form will allow the State Bar Association to conduct an investigation on your allegations. Please fill it out and mail it back to them. Be very clear, concise and if you have any evidence to support your allegations, make copies of them and include them with the form. It is finally time we all get together and get this horrible man disbarred. He should not be allowed to practice law in any state!
